Release Project Manager

Cloudleaf's PMO team is looking for a Release Project Manager to lead the continuous delivery of releases for our products. You are energetic, flexible and capable of managing large scale/complex engineering projects in a fast-paced environment. You are hands-on, partnering closely with DevOps, Development and Quality Assurance teams. You are the point of contact for communicating release information across the enterprise. In this role, you will significantly contribute to the evolution and scale of our release process, enabling us to deliver value to our customers efficiently and seamlessly. You have strong hands-on release and project management experience in a dynamic IT environment. We are considering both regular employee candidates as well as hiring a consultant who could convert to a regular employee.   Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and lead deployments of major product releases, patches and changes  
  • Collaborate with other engineering project managers to manage the delivery of releases while ensuring any issues are triaged and resolved 
  • Create release/implementation plans and coordinate with multiple engineering teams to ensure successful and stable deployments and releases 
  • Work with teams across the organization to handle customer escalations, incidents or dependent release activities 
  • Maintain schedule of change/release calendar for all upcoming releases 
  • Manage all release activities including release communications, readiness reviews and Business Go/No-Go reviews 
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information 
  • Continually work to improve the release process 
  • Manage and track release metrics, and own release reporting to stakeholders 
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between key stakeholders
  • Establish consistent release management processes and cadence 
  • Facilitate cross-department coordination of release management functions 
  • Inform staff and management of release risk and effectively mitigate it 
  • Measure release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the platform portfolio and identify opportunities for greater efficiency 
  • Ensure accurate and efficient release blocker meetings 
  • Manage sev1/sev2 production issues by working with development and support teams 
  Requirements BA/BS/BE in Computer Science or equivalent degree with 5+ years of technical project management experience in technical industry Experience working in a release management capacity for software development  Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle, specifically Agile/Scrum   Expert in Agile and Scrum methodology, familiar with Sprint ceremonies  Experience with Jira and Confluence Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team  Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and be able to make good, timely decisions  Comfortable with proactively and independently driving for results in small team environments   Ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion   Effective leadership and analytical skills   Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, QA, support and DevOps teams   Self-motivated with strong documentation and presentation skills, and experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels  Supply chain & asset management experience is helpful, but not required
